My full name is Kim Kristina Bjørk. You can call me Kim. I’m 20 and was born on the 2nd of February 1986. I’m half Finnish, a quarter Thai and a quarter Chinese, but was born and raised in the beautiful country of Norway. I grew up by the beach in a small town called Brusand. So i’m a real country (or beach, if you like) girl :-)
My parents don’t live together anymore, they separated when I was 12. My dad, Johan (45) is from Finland, and my mom, Oy (51) from Thailand. I have one younger sister, Kinja (17). My mom is remarried to Lop (he’s from Thailand too), and my sis currently lives with my dad.
I’ve always believed in God, and it’s amazing to look back and see how much He spoke to me and took care of me even when I was a kid. It wasn’t until I was 15 though, that I took a choice to follow Him the rest of my life.
In my free time I really enjoy reading books, sleeping, cooking, geeking out, cleaning my room, listening to music, hanging out with friends, and going out on dates with Shane. Some things I don’t enjoy as much are dirty feet when going to bed, eating lollies after I’ve just cleaned my teeth and then having to clean them again, watching scary movies, and sleeping with the lights on.
In January 2006 I went to Chiang Rai, Thailand to do a DTS. A choice I never regret I made. I learned alot about myself, about God, and our relationship together. Here was also where I met my future husband, Shane :-) God has really blessed me beyond what I could ever imagine!
I’ve always wanted to study nursing, but God had other plans for me in this season. I’m now helping out as DTS staff at the same place where I did my DTS. I’ve committed for two years, and after that I really want to start studying. God is faithful though, I really enjoy working as staff, and He has given me a heart for the DTS.

SHANE'S STORY
Hey (G-day Mate), I’m Shane Matthew Beckingham or “the stick” or “Shaneo” or “Shane” (just the plain old first name trick). I grew up in the big city of Perth, Australia. On June 1st, 1985 I “rushed” into the world (that’s what mum & dad tell me… I personally don’t remember) and joined a family of 5… well at the time there was only 3 others and then me… but then came my little sis. As we are today though there’s… Stephen (dad) - Age 49, Karen (mum) - Age 45, Tom (bro) - Age 23, Shane (me) - Age 21, Camille (sis) - Age 19.
We all grew up knowing about God & us 3 kids still go to the same Church (Thornlie Church of Christ) that we have gone to forever (that’s when we aren’t in other countries – that happens quiet a lot too). Mum and dad now go to a church just down the road.
We are a family that is crazy in love with ASIA & crazy in love with God. Our families love for those two things ended up landing me in Thailand in January 2006 to be a student in the Chiang Rai YWAM DTS. It was an unforgettable time & a time that has changed my life forever. Not only did God teach me amazing truth, but there I also met my amazing girl, Kim Kristina Bjørk. I’m back working in Australia right now…. BUT NOW I AM HER FIANCÉ!
When i have time i love to geek out, listen to music, hang out with kim every single moment that i can (on the phone or even in person... when thats possible), eat crazy amounts of lollies (so that my teeth even start to fall out, be arty and do graphic design, even cut my friends hair for free :-)
